Show Nebraska. January 12. No pen on Train. Saturday. A slow train Dr. and I slept very little Dr. not feeling well has a touch of tourane poison I guess. Toast and Tea for breakfast. I ate no lunch at Cheyenne we recd another telegram say Mary no better tem. 104 something weak and pain etc. we feel we could fly an anxious long day. Eat no supper and retire early in separate births I wrote Thair and Lucile. Dr sent telegram saying to do what they the Drs consider best. Hope she will be better by tomorrow very anxious. Have taken tablets so we can sleep tonight.January 13 Sunday on train Chicago Today we arrived in Chicago at four P.M. after an anxious day. Recd telegram at noon saying Mary was much the same. Weak and temperature 104. But Drs will wait to operate in the morning after Dr arrives at 7 A.M. Mr. and Mrs. Paulsen met us at Chicago and took us to Central Club where we waited six hours, had dinner etc and took train out for Columbus at 10-30 PM. St is extremely cold today here 18 below zero strong wind blowing. We Retire early and hope to have a good rest as we have last night. Dr is feeling better. Wrote Thair, Mrs Mattson, Lucile and Ruth Townsley I could not get Ruth over the phone while in Chicago. |
