Show Columbus. February 25. Monday. Oertel Mary and I went into town and did shopping bought mary two very pretty silk print dresses for twenty five dollars; had a nice lunch at Lazarus. It has rained hard all after noon. Elder McMackin called also Mr and Mrs Ward to say good by. Oertel and I called on Mrs Fern. I left Columbus at eleven 45 P.M. in sleeper for Chicago. Oertel and Oscar saw me off Rather a sad parting as have no idea when I shall see them again. Chicago. February 26. Tuesday. Did not sleep much arrived here at 7.15 A.M. checked luggage. Bought Pullman ticket for home on Gold Coast Limited. Telephoned Ruth Townley to meet me at Fields for lunch. I Walked from retail store of Fields 8 blocks to Whole Sale Store where I spent the morning. Purchased a Red Fox fur and Lepard fur coat for Marry. Two dresses for myself and some presents for the girls at home. Spent the afternoon with Ruth in Fields. Had dinner at the Palmer Hotel with George and Ruth who also saw me of on Train at 8. 30 P.M. Gold Coast Limited. |
