Columbus January 28 Monday I did not go to the hospital to see Mary yesterday. But have been into see her today. She slept most of the morning. She is still improving and still has Miss Stella Mack as special nurse. Oertel and I have spent most of the time lately go into the City and back. We drive in once or twice every day. I recd a letter from Lucile and one from Lister Martha Cooley. A cold miserable day. Columbus January 29 Tuesday Oertel has done her washing today. I spent several hours at the hospital today. Mary seems much better. Oscar and Oertel invited me to go to the Love Paine Banquet given once a year by the Free Thinkers Club of Columbus. There were about 100 people present fine music given and six fifteen minute speakers as different characterists of Love Paine. All were very interesting. A very interesting toastmaster presided. Oscar gave a very fine talk. We arrived home at eleven P.M. and to our surprise found Dr here. He came back from Cleveland and stayed all night. I spent an hr with Mary. Janath and Carol stayed the evening alone.
