Advice to Girls Dont be too free in speaking your mind. Try to be agreeable. If you seem to be unable to get out of the wallflower class, go in for sports. Learn to excel in one or two games and your popularity will increase. Girls should keep themselves shiningly clean. Be immaculate. Keep yourself well groomed. LOS ANGELES, July 1 Not one great thinker has been produced in the United States, Dr. Will Durant, the philosopher, said today in a lecture at the University of California at Los Angeles. America is too young to have bred a thinker capable of diverting or adding to the worlds great thoughts, he explained. And so, in naming his list of ten great thinkers, the subject of his lecture, Dr. Durant included none of his countrymen. He listed, in the order of mental rank, Confucius, Plato, Aristotle, Copernicus, Bacon, Newton, Spinoza, Voltaire, Kant and Darwin. Of all living philosophers, Einstein, the German scientist, is supreme in Dr. Durants opinion, he said. Although he omitted Americans from his list of ten best, Dr. Durant predicted our complex method of living is bound to develop deeper and keener thinkers.
