During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins. |

Show Sunday January 20 Columbus This A.M. Dr went to the hospital to see Mary. Still encouraged about her. Oertel, Oscar, Janath and I went to Sunday school. I was ask to speak a few minutes. There are but a few members of our church here but they hold their meetings etc and are all earnest it seems. This afternoon we had a nice drive up the river to see the Thonsie Dam which is very wonderful. A lovly sun shiny day. This evening we spent with Mr and Mrs Ward very nice people friends of Oertels. Also met there Mr and Mrs Williams. A lovly dinner and pleasant evening. Columbus January 21 Monday This A.M. Dr and I went into the hospital. Found Mary better. I stayed there while Dr went to see Dr Baldwin operate at White Star Hospital. Dr Oertel and I had lunch at Lazerus and there went to the Auto show. Did not met Oscar as he preceded to home. Had a nice dinner, called on Mrs Fern and daughter next door and there drove into a show at the also saw the Ohio Picture Theater very beautiful. Oertel brought her a lovly new coat. Wrote a letter or two. A foggy bad night. Oscar and Oertel do ever thing in Their power for our pleasure. We enjoy Janath and Carol so much. They are very good children and make no trouble about staying alone all evening. A letter from Eugene. |
