MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY This branch of engineering technology is devoted primarily to planning the processes of economic manufacture: the art and science of analyzing, planning, designing, construction and producing manufacturing facilities. Occupational patterns in industry have changed significantly in the past decade, and the rate of change is increasing. New materials, new processes, automation and improved techniques of measurement and control have combined to increase the need for technically competent persons with special abilities who can support and supplement the efforts of engineers and scientists throughout the manufacturing complex. The need for technically competent persons can be met by expanded educational services. This curriculum is to train youth and adults for useful employment in recognized occupations in manufacturing requiring engineering and scientific knowledge. Department Major—In addition to the general requirements for graduation from Weber State College the following courses, passed with a grade of "C" or better, are required for the departmental major.
