At the completion of this curriculum a Certificate of Proficiency will be awarded. 1. Hair Dressing—Shampooing, color rinsing, finger waving, sculpture curling, and hair styling. Five laboratories. A W S (5) Staff 306 Technology 2. Sterilization—Care and sterilization of equipment and instruments; personal and public hygiene and personality. Five lectures. AWS (5). Staff 3. Permanent Waving and Hair Cutting—Hair shaping and thinning; methods of permanent waving, including cold wave. Five laboratories. AWS (5). Staff 4. Body Systems—A study of cells, tissues, organs, and systems of the body. Five lectures. AWS (5). Staff 5. Scalp Treatments—Special treatments of the hair shaft and scalp. This course also includes the care of transformations. Five laboratories. AWS (5). Staff 6. Anatomy and Physiology—Osteology, myology, neurology, angiology, and a study of the endocrine system. Five laboratories. AWS (5). Staff 51. Manicuring and Hand Moulding—Plain and lactol manicuring; hand and arm massaging and make-up. Five laboratories. AWS (5). Staff 52. Skin and Its Appendage—Structure of skin; hair, nails and their diseases. Five lectures. AWS (5). Staff 53. Hair Tinting—Tinting and dyeing, bleaching and toning. Five laboratories. AWS (5). Staff 54. Skin and Scalp Diseases—Specific diseases of the skin and scalp and an analysis of those that can and cannot be treated by a cosmetician. Five lectures. AWS (5). Staff 55. Facial Massage—Facial massage and skin treatments including muscle toning, make-up and lash and brow tinting. Five laboratories. AWS (5). Staff 56. Chemistry and Electricity—Electricity and currents; wall plates, high frequency and their uses; also, the chemistry of cosmetics. Five lectures. AWS (5).
