Show Former Utah Athlete To Make Rotary Talk LOGAN Fred Bennion, former Utah athlete, will be the speaker at the meeting of the Logan Rotary club Tuesday at the Bluebird. He was a member of the University of Utah football team and was an all conference selection. He also established a record in the hammer throw, which remained unbroken for 15 years. Mr. Bennion, executive secretary of the Montana Taxpayers association and editor of the Montana Taxpayer, will discuss the present taxation systems. Federal Examination LOGAN The federal examination for a junior engineer will be held Saturday at 8:30 a. m. in room 304 at the engineering building at the Utah State Agricultural college instead of in the post office as previously announced, Albert O. Anderson, civil service secretary, stated Wednesday. The reason for the change was that the post office civil service room would not accommodate the 18 applicants. Number of Temple Grounds Visitors First Ten Months Of 1935 Breaks All Records Records Show 162,000 Persons Were Taken Through by Guides; Organization Directed by L. D. S. Church Surpassing all records of the past five years, 162,000 persons visited the L. D. S. temple grounds during the first ten months of 1935, according to Joseph S. Peery, manager of the L. D. S. bureau of information and president of the temple square mission. The average daily attendance of visitors during the 10 months was 632. However, the records show that more than half the tourists visited the grounds in the months of July and August. The heaviest monthly visitation was made in August, when 47,000 persons toured the grounds, an average of 1516 daily. In July there were 37,000 persons, making a daily average attendance during that month of 1193. Guides Employed During the summer months the bureau is open for visitors from 8 a. m. to 9 p. m. Fifty five guides are employed to conduct the tourists through the block free of charge. People from all corners of the world have visited the grounds and have been shown through the various buildings by the guides. During one day it has been known 39 states and seven foreign countries have been represented on the registration books. For the past four years the annual tabulations show that in 1931 108,730 persons were guests at the grounds; in 1932, 125,328 persons; 1933, 102,029 persons, and 1934, 126, 109 persons. The bureau was formed and is directed by the first presidency of the L. D. S. church. Choir Draws Much of the interest of tourists has grown out of the Sunday national radio broadcasts of the tabernacle choir and organ, a feature promoted by the first presidency.
