Show for tomorrows tea Nan out pm. No visitors & no church at night. Slowed down by weather Monday, Feb. 29, Very cold. 5 above 0 last night. Busy fixing for tea everything in nice shape by noon. Mrs. Shupe (of Judys) & helpers carried out very nicely refreshments with out dear Elizabeth in charge in dining room. About 100 guests called honoring Ruby Whistlnight returning Chin of Pink Ladies. A nice time. Henry came in eve & put china away. A cold eve with light snow. Sun came out later. have no energy left for today. Cut out Braille lesson. Some reading & many phone calls. Nan finished putting away silver, etc. Down town late pm. A few odd things at Ben Marche. A quiet eve at home. Wednesday, March 2, To LL Club at Ellis home. Blanche Rich took me & Maude Silver brot me home, A good lesson& book review by Claude Matthews. (ONeills 2nd wife & rather disgusting) Nans p.m. out. Visited several department heads Began reading The Babe and I (Babe Ruth) after finishing Eleanor Roosevelts book. Talked with Dr. Olson re my medicines. Feeling fine. Friday, March 4, Finished the Babe Ruth story not very good. either literally or factually. A quiet, rather lazy day, Spent my time cozily in study. Talked with sisters. & with alice who came to return candlesticks. Nan did the marketing & went out a while to a wedding reception. Weather moderating. A quiet day at home. later pm a ride with Nan. We looked around for a building but Nan out in eve. Sunday School 10 am fast meeting after. At 130 started for dinner at Maddox. Picked up Edith. A long wait for service. Nan left us at Bettys & Laurie brot me home. |
