Show at Tommy & Letz, Early to attend adult class. Joe gave blessing in fast meeting following Dinner at house. Nan & I to house after. In pm & eve 8 phone calls & visit from Earl & Minnie Jensen to look at house Monday 25, A busy day at house Martha & Margaret cleaned windows & closets all day. Mr. Schow put up seneems four parts working. Got telephone in. Nan & I served lunch & got put away in closet. Jimmie brot a man to look thru their house. Nan fixed lunch for group at work. Mr. Hansen busy with garden. had about seven at work. Nan & I took all linens up to the house & got linen closet nicely organized. Worked on this until 2 pm & had lunch at home. Got shelf paper at Lowes & groceries. Good progress being made on garden at 1811. Floor being laid in big room. Mr. Brewer brot a man to look at the house. I have two books to read on machine, but do not take much time for them. Wednesday, April 27, Took bulk of our bedding in bundles up to 1811. Margaret & Martha did a fine days work & got all closets windows, etc, days work & got done & sought out the rooms. Nans pm out. Elizabeth came & took the gifts I gave for her birthday. Got silver out & some linens. Ward teacher in eve. This our first really messy moving day. Thursday, April 28, Margaret & Martha came Spent am. sorting & packing up things in front rooms & luggage room under my dinette . I sore gave out & had to quit for the day Nan in the middle of things & got a good dinner for the girls & then went up to 1811. Henry came & took 4 loads. for the girls to receive & arrange. Quite a mess & not all in place when the girls left at 5. Nan & I tired. Friday, April 29, We are beginning to realize the big task of moving. Mr. Trevor looked thru house. Getting books from shelves. Jimmie brot home prospects while Nan & I were up at 1811. Left list of last fixings for Mr. Schow Jimmie came & I gave home check for 22,000 dollar payment on house brot close 850 dollars. I to brunch at Mrs. Wards at 1130 & to Modern Literature Club with Diana Thatcher at 2. Shower for Diana & Ruth at 1811. Nan & I took a ride. The Spring is beautiful. Anna Rasmussen visited eve. |
