Show freshman Freshmen fledglings who evince precocity may find positions worthy of their talents in higher politics. Such was the case when Rex McEntire, Mildred Taggart, and Sophie Reed were inducted into class leadership. Unable to decide on a single theme worthy of their utilization, these members of the diaper dynasty combined Pioneer Days, Fourth of July, Army Day, All Hallow's Eve, Guy Fawke's Day, and Chinese New Year's into a musical montage named the Frosh Hash. Other concoctions provided excuses for semi-annual class meetings. The expert administration was abetted by many fanatical partisans. A few of the most zealous will return next year. As the quarters slip away, the chaff is winnowed from the wheat; talent is recognized and unsung genius is developed. Students pictured here were quick to seize the opportunities provided freshmen for leadership and activity. Chance played a dominant role in their selection and their accomplishments throughout the year. Another year will truly test them and bring forth still others as yet unappreciated. In unheralded positions on publications, in musical events and athletics, they have laid the groundwork for taking executive positions of responsibility next year. Glancing over the list, competency in scholarship, the gift of gab, and a yen for publicity seem necessary to be outstanding . . .
