LOS ANGELES TOURNAMENT Seven would-be orators went to Pepperdine Junior College in Los Angeles for the three-day meet as the first trek of the year. Camille Larsen, June Bramwell, Maurine Duffin, Robert Bischoff, Maurice Richards, La Mar Buckner, and Earl Tanner were the contestants. As usual, their greatest debate came in convincing all that they didn't come from "Webber" College. BAKERSFIELD INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT Rapidly forming their famous technique, Betty Lou Balch and Camille Larsen won a second place in the women's division in this second invasion of California at the Bakersfield Junior College, on January 9, 10, 11. Other squad members who sought the sunny respite from the winter grind included Maurine Duffin, Keith Wilcox, Robert Bischoff, and La Mar Buckner. debate and extemp PHI RHO PI REGIONALS State Phi Rho Pi honors again were awarded Weber's galloping gyros at Carbon College in Price. Three W. C. teams shared top debate honors: June Bramwell-Maurine Duffin, Keith Wilcox-La Mar Buckner, and Robert Bischoff-Maurice Richards . . . Maurine Duffin placed second in oratory; Keith Wilcox placed first and La Mar Buckner, second in extemporaneous speaking to add to Weber's wholesale victory in debate.
