Show Tennis competition this year was very keen and attracted many contestants. A spring and fall course of competition was followed. Intramurals have done much to promote interest in this sport. Practically every youngster about the campus who is big enough to wield a racquet has one in his possession at present. Maybe it's the increased technique the members of clubs get in handling a paddle that encourages their participation . . . The little man at the scene of all intramural competition may be seen at the right. Although his job kept him out of a lot of sports which he would have liked to be in, Cherry took it on the chin and really put over a highly successful campaign. He is so easy to get along with that the students were eager to cooperate with him. Manager Cherry intramurals In the intramural field, the faculty this year should be duly complimented upon their accomplishments. They worked and practiced hard until they became the top team. This is the first time for many years that the faculty have even been among the leading three competitive groups . . . Basketball was a major part of the intramural program. Practically every organization took part in the competition, along with several unaffiliated teams of great ability. Dirty work and graft com- posed the technique of the game-thrown in with a little disgust by the faculty when they happened to get beaten (which was not supposed to happen). |
