They also know that it needs more members. “Roller Skating Clan is a real good clan,” says Richard. “We want it to be the best clan Ben Lomond ever has!” The officers and members of the clan urge everyone to join. Twelve Singers From B.L. Make All - State Choir On Friday, Oct. 8, the AllState Music Festival was held in the Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. This event was held in conjunction with the U.E.A. Convention last week. Ben Lomond had a fine representation in the All State Choir. The Choir was composed of students throughout the State. Those representing Ben Lomond were Les Staffanson, Diane Ahlmer, Terry Bexell, Mark Brown, Denise Dixon, Darlene Staffer, Rex Williams, Rand Matteson, Carla Minks, Holy Behling, James Turner, and Kevin Kinney. These students were extremely privileged to have as their conductor Jester Harriston, a well-known music writer, arranger and director. These students learned the value of hard work and its benefits. We’re sure that their experience will be of benefit to our choir. The choir officers for this year are: Randy Thompson, president; Mark Brown, vice president; Les Staffanson, secretary; Joline Anderson, historlan. Post Record ever. Nineteen runners want to. Giving the tug-of-war contest all they have are: a whole bunch of Scots. (from R. to L.) Boys’ Assn. After losing to Weber and Box Elder, they came back by beating Bear River 15-40, Ogden 25-30 and Bonneville 15-40. In both the Bear River and Bonneville meets, the Scots had seven runners in before even one of their opponents finished. Among the constant top finishers are Steve Gardner, Scot Amos, Eliot Smith, George Zinn, Bill Jaggar, Craig Lybert, and Vincent Garcia. One of the amazing facts of this year’s cross-country team is that there is a large participation among sophomores, many of whom are top finishers. This insures good seasons for the fuure. The Boys’ Association has accomplished quite a lot so far this year. This summer they cosponsored a dance which attracted over 460 people. An assembly sponsored by the Boys’ Association turned out to be a success. Scott “Tex” Shears and Kim Anderson played a couple of top country tunes. Serabis entertained and Dr. Ed- win L. Peterson spoke on the American Way. During Iron Horse Week, the Association sponsored a gold fish swallowing contest. Fortytwo fish were swallowed and three catfish were chewed. A car decorating contest was postponed because of the snow, but may be held later in the year. On Oct. 6 the B.A. sponsored a victory dance over Ogden High.
