At the completion of this curriculum a Certificate of Proficiency will be awarded. 1. Hair Dressing and Hair Shaping—Shampooing, sculpture curling and hair styling. Five laboratories. A W (5). Staff 2. Sterilization—Care and sterilization of equipment and instruments; personal and public hygiene and personality. Five lectures. AW S (5). Staff 3. Permanent Waving—Methods of permanent waving. Five laboratories.. AWS (5). Stafff 4. Body Systems—A study of cells, tissues, organs and systems of the body. Five lectures. AWS (5). Staff 5. Scalp Treatments—Special treatments of the hair shaft and scalp. Five Laboratories. AW S (5). Staff 6. Anatomy and Physiology—Osteology, myology, neurology, angiology, and a study of the endocrine system. Five laboratories. AWS (5). Staff 7. Manicuring and Hand Moulding—Structure of the nail. Plain and lactol manicuring; hand and arm massaging. Five laboratories. A W S (5). Staff 8. Hair Tinting—Tinting, coloring, bleaching and toning. Five lecture-laboratories. AWS (5). Staff 296 Technology 9. Skin and Its Appendage—Structure of the skin and the hair. An analysis of skin and scalp disorders that can be treated by the Cosmetician. AWS (5). Staff 10. Care of Wigs, Wiglets and Falls—Cleaning, cutting, setting and combing. Five lecture-laboratories. AWS (5). Staff 11. Facial Massage—Facial massage and skin treatments including toning, make-up and lash and brow tinting. Five lecture-laboratories. AWS (5). Staff 12. Chemistry and Electricity—Electricity and currents; wall plates, high frequency and their uses; also, the chemistry of cosmetics. Five lectures. AWS (5). The student who desires to continue on and complete a B. S. Degree must do so in the Automotive Engineering Technology Department. He should make application with the Department Chairman, so an interview may be conducted to determine grade point average and a suitable course of study 297 |
