Show Marriott-Slaterville City History April 2019 Members of the City Youth Council attended the Youth Council Day at the legislature this year. They shared with the City Council what they enjoyed and learned and thanked the Council for the opportunity of participating in this event. Council approved Ordinance 2019-04 relating to Transient Activities in our City. A portion of 1200 W will be reconstructed this summer. Mr. Morris stated that UTA is willing to donate $47,713 to help with this project. The First United Methodist Church has expressed an interest in acquiring access to secondary water. Mr. Morris is checking into the cost to do that. Mr. Meyerhoffer discussed the cost of snow removal for the City. If we purchased a truck and took care of our own snow removal, it would help alleviate some of the cost associated with contracting with the County. He also discussed purchasing a small SUV for City use. A new security system was purchased and installed for the building and parks. Bits and Pieces Randy and Barbara Phipps celebrated their wedding anniversary on April 13, 2019. Exaidren Elmer, son of Aisha Elmer, was born on April 17, 2019. Frances Buck, 90, passed away on April 24, 2019. Weber County and Utah emergency management officials gathered at the Ogden Regional Medical Center in Washington Terrance for a four-day seminar organized by the Weber County Emergency Management Office. The seminar was meant to give the attending emergency management officials from cities located within Weber County a sense of what they could be facing if an earthquake hits. Standard-Examiner-Aoril 20.2019 Parents protested a cement barrier placed between the parking lots of Weber Innovation High School and the IFA Country Store on 12**^ Street. The store erected the barrier to prevent school traffic from accessing the school parking lot through a portion of the IFA parking lot the company calls a "drive aisle" in court documents. The aisle connects the IFA store parking lot to an intersection and traffic light on 12**^ Street that IFA partially funded. Parents, however, say the lack of access to the light is a safety issue for student drivers. They planned a protest for 2:00 pm on Monday, April 22, 2019.
