This will be a full reconstruction from the sub-grade to the surface. It is recommended that you plan now for the inconveniences that this road project will cause. 1200 West will be widened to include a median turning lane to accommodate increased traffic along with curb, gutter, and sidewalk. A landscaped berm will be installed along the east side of the road to assist in buffering the industrial activities at BDO from the residential uses on the west side of the street. As part of the reconstruction, improvements will be made to driveway approaches, culinary water services, and a new sewer line and secondary water line will be installed. Also, a stop light will be located at the intersection of 400 North and 1200 West to better control traffic. No private property will be taken for this project, and all road widening will come off the BDO east side of the street. However, a project of this magnitude will create significant traffic disruptions. As such, this project will cause the road to be closed to all vehicles, excepting local traffic. Construction will commence this summer and continue for approximately a year. Please plan for alternative routes now so that when construction and road closures occur you will be prepared in advance.
