For those who love crafts and unique handmade gifts here is your chance to show it off and sell your wares. If you like to browse boutiques for local gifts come enjoy. The boutique is at the Marriott-Slaterville City Building, 1570 West 400 North, November 16,2019, from 10:00 AM until 5:30 PM. Admission and vendor spaces are free. All crafts must be primarily handmade, repurposed, or assembled by the vendor. Please bring your own tables and decor. Inside space is 4'x8' for each vendor, and your displays should be freestanding. Set-up is Friday from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, or Saturday moming from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Vendors call or preferably text Cecile at 801- 628-2921. Farmer Roundtable Come and learn about the "The Basics of Growing Hemp" at the upcoming Farmer Roundtable. Growing hemp is legal in Utah under a new state law. There is a lot of new information, pitfalls, and strategy to this cash crop. There are currently six hemp farms in Weber County. The City is hosting a guest speaker to give a basic overview on hemp. The meeting is one hour. Growers interested are invited to attend the Farmer Roundtable on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at 6:00 PM at the City Senior Multi-purpose Room, 1570 West 400 North. Breakfast with Santa Santa Clause will be visiting Marriott-Slaterville City on Saturday, Decembei/^, 2019, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Senior Center, 1570 West 400 North. Come enjoy breakfast with Santa. Bring a camera! The cost is $3.00 for adults, and $2.00 for children 12 and under. Please RSVP by calling the City Office at 801-627-1919. Community Awards Each year residents have an opportunity to nominate a person or business in the community for our annual awards. Now is the time to recognize someone for going above and beyond as a neighbor, business, leader, youth, or volunteer. Nominations are now being accepted by the Mayor for the following: *■ The Good Neighbor Award - nominate an exemplary neighbor or business. ► Elna Lucas Community Culture/History Award - nominate a person who has contributed to our local community history or culture. H. Orvil Holley Youth Leadership Award - nominate an outstanding youth. ► Darrell Mecham Community Service Award nominate an extraordinary volunteer. Rules for Winter Weather Winter is almost here! Snow will soon cover the roads. Here are a few rules for snow season. There is no parking along any roads during and after snowstorms so the snow plows can operate. Violators will be towed. Weber County plows the most traveled roads first. Subdivisions and lesser traveled roads will be plowed last. Property owners with sidewalks are responsible to remove snow from the sidewalk within 24-hours after a snowstorm. Scout Project WANTED: old worn out United States flags. Tytan Nowell is doing an Eagle Scout Project retiring old and worn out flags in conjunction with Veterans on Veterans Day. Please drop off flags at Marriott-Slaterville City, 1570 West 400 North, on or before November 7, 2019, and the flags will be properly retired on Veterans Day.
