Show UTAH ACTRESS PLANS TO WED Laraine Day, Instructor Of Flying, to Marry On May 16 1942 HOLLYWOOD, May 2 Laraine Day, native Utahn and a rising young screen star, was making plans today for a May 16 marriage. She announced her engagement to Ray Hendericks, 29, former dance band singer and actor, now a civilian flying instructor. Unless something happens to interfere with out plans, that will be the wedding date, Miss Day said. She said that should her or Hendricks work prevent, they would be married as soon as both had a few days leisure. Miss Day and Hendricks met two years ago when he appeared in an amateur program she sponsored. The young actress is a native of Roosevelt, Utah. She played the nurse in the Dr. Kildare films who finally was killed so that she would not be typed. Her most noteworthy part was in Foreign Correspondent and My Son, My Son. Hendricks was a member of the bands of Ben Bernie and Ted Fio Rito before becoming a flying instructor. Grand niece of Dr E.I. Rich |
