Distinguished Career Ends Henry Hooper Blood, former governor and one of the states leading public figures for more than 48 years, who died in a Salt Lake hospital Friday morning following a short illness. One of Utahs most illustrious public careers was ended Friday when Henry Hooper Blood, governor from 1932 until 1940 and a prominent leader in church, state and civic affairs since 1893, died after an illness of six days. The former governor was known and respected in all corners of the state, and was known by all classes because of his 23 consecutive years of service as a leader in affairs of the state government.
