R. John Peer Passes at Age 39 Sept 23 1943 Richard John Peery, 39, prominent young Ogden business man died at twelve fifty this afternoon in a local hospital. He was born in Ogden Nov. 24, 1904, a son of Horace Eldredge Peery and Jane Taylor Peery. He was .assistant manager of the Peery estate. He was married Nov. 29, 1939, in the Salt Lake City L. D. S. temple to Miss Almeda Newman. Mr. Peery was a member of the L. J. R. Peery D. S. church and was a member of the high priest quorum of the Ogden stake, served as president of the Geneological society of the L. D. S. Second ward. He was ward clerk of the Mount Ogden ward for several years and served three years as a missionary In Germany before the war. He was a member of the civil air patrol. Surviving is his wife, his mother, two brothers, Major Horace Taylor Peery, Palo Alto, Calif.; Lieut. David Harold Peery, New York; a sister, Mrs. Calvin C. Collins, Palo Alto, Calif.; his grandmother, Mrs. Sarah M. Farr Taylor, of Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held Saturday at two p. m. in the Thirteenth ward chapel, conducted by Bishop J. Ray Williams. Friends may call Friday from four to nine p. m. and Saturday until one thirty p. m. at Larkin & Sons drawing room. Interment will be in the Ogden city cemetery.
