Show Marriott-Slaterville City History August 2019 Marriott-Slaterville Monthly History August 2019 August continued the hot, dry spell that arrived in July. Marriott-Slaterville City will be hosting our first quarterly Farmers' Roundtable as part of our planned agri-commerce program. The City is excited to facilitate opportunities for local growers to partner with local and regional businesses in an effort to foster our "Farm [2] Market", "Farm [2] Fork" and "Buy Local" concepts. Residents who enjoy gardening, farming, or have great ideas to help perpetuate our rural community culture via agri-commerce are invited to attend the one-hour Farmers' Roundtable at the City Hall on August 20"^ at 6:00 pm. We will also introduce Cara Tippetts Warren as our Community Agri-Eco Coordinator and discuss future roundtable meetings. This month the reconstruction of 1200 West between 400 North and Bill Bailey Boulevard will begin. This will be a full reconstruction from the sub-grade to the surface. 1200 West will be widened to include a median turning lane to accommodate increased traffic along with curb, gutter and sidewalk. A landscaped berm will be installed along the east side of the road to help in buffering the industrial activities at BDO. As part of the reconstruction improvements will be made to driveway approaches, culinary water services, and a new sewer line and secondary water line will be installed. Also, a stop light will be located at the intersection of 400 North and 1200 West to better control traffic. No private property will be taken for this project, and ail road widening will come off the BDO east side of the street. However, there will be significant traffic disruptions. Therefore, this project will cause the road to be closed to all vehicles except local traffic. The construction is expected to continue for approximately one year.
