Courses of Instruction 102. Automotive Service Management—Principles involved in managing automobile service shops and procedures in maintaining customer service relations. Three lectures. S (3) Staff 103. Automotive Electricity—Theory, construction, principles of operation of late model electrical units, such as: A.C. generators, transistor power units, including heavy duty applications. Prerequisite: Automotive 53, 54. Two lectures and one lecture-laboratory combination. A (3) Staff 121. Diesel Power Selection—Selection and installation of diesel equipment, including construction of bases and other items essential to set up a diesel plant. Three lectures. A (3) Staff 123. Electric Drives—Principles and fundamentals of electricity and current with the control mechanism and current used in diesel electrical units. Three lectures. W (3) Staff 151. Metal Refinishing—Application of proper methods of straightening and painting various panels and other sheet metal using the latest products and equipment found in trade and industry. Two three-hour lecture-laboratory combinations. W (3) Staff 153. Testing and Analysis of Power Units—Standard tests of automotive and diesel components are run on engine dynamometer, chassis dynamometer, and other testing equipment; graphs of operational characteristics are prepared and results analyzed. One lecture and two two-hour lecture-laboratory combinations. A (3) Staff 160. Diesel Service and Management—Selection and installation of diesel equipment, testing, diagnosing, and repair of diesel electric equipment. Three lectures. A W S (3) Staff 190.
