It was presented May 1, 2 and 3 under the direction of Mr. Allred and the assistant student director. Dorothy Lichfield . . . The play was presented in a very informal manner, without stage setting or props. This of necessity placed the burden of the production on the action, a burden skilfully handled by the cast. John Pier Without doubt the most appealing thing about the play was the humanness of the characters - their accurate portrayal of actual characters and life situations . . . John Piers was an unofficial stage manager who told his audience about life in a small town that might have been anyone's home town. The characters moved on and off the stage at the suggestion of the stage manager, and the production left every person in the audience with the resolution that, after seeing and feeling the experiences of Emily Webb, he would savor every experience of his own life a little more fully.
