So far we haven’t really been able to put anything together concerning all of the Blacks, but we are planning an assembly and a dance. We are having a Black Emphasis Week starting December 6. Our dance will be African wear. This is also to show you the dress of our Black ancestors. There will be more advertisements to go along with the ones that are already hung in the hall. Mr. Taylor is our advisor and he helps us when we really get stuck on something. He lets us work things out on our own, though. That helps us to learn to organize more efficiently and learn by our mistakes. The Black students of Mr. Taylor’s Minority Group History Class gave a dinner for the rest of the students in that class.: The dinner turned out quite nice and everyone expressed their opinion of how the dinner was. This year the Black Clan is more organized and we hope to accomplish a lot as well as have fun. The Scots in uniform out enjoying B. L. Swimmers Set 2 Records openings for anyone interested. Although the swim meets have already begun, the members of the Spirit Clan are doing their best to catch up with them. The swim team, as you may already know, has already started the season in a winning pace. We've got a great basketball team this year, with so many of last year’s starters back. They are out to win every game this year, not just for themselves, but for everybody in Ben Lomond. So let’s all get out there and support our great team. Along with preparing for the basketball season, the Spirit Clanners practiced for and marched in the annual Christmas Parade along with the Bonnie Lassies, Heatherettes, and band. Everyone participating had a marvelous. time even though there were a few minor mishaps. We appreciate being able to take part in these activities. As you know, the Christmas Dance is sponsored by the Spirit Clan. So, in order to raise enough money to make the dance memorable, the Spirit Clan is selling Fernwood candy and Bestline Products. So, please support us so the dance will be a success. We wish to thank the Scots who have supported us so far. THANK YOU! Lonnie Reid 1971 Black Cian By Counseling 24, The.
