As far as post graduation is concerned, Becky hopes to at- tend Utah State University and major in the field of Home Economics. In addition to her interests in home economics she is a three-year graduate from Ben Lomond’s Seminary. Between school work and working at the ‘House of Fabrics, and sewing her finger in the sewing ma- finds the chine, she somehow time to ski. BRENT Craig Lundell, a very active member of the studentbody, is a well deserving candidate for the General Scholarship nomina- tion as he maintains a 4.0 accumulattive grade point average and has held and now holds many positions of leadership. Craig has a long history of seminary service. Up to date he has served Seminary Junior in the capacity of president at Highland High, Seminary repre- sentative, and at present is president of Ben Lomond’s Seminary and the vice-chairman of District Seminary Craig is now try, Seminary Council, taking Chemisand Advanced Math while at the same time he, along with Cheryl Hunter, holds the position of B, L.’s number one debate team. He ane poner took rier pisée 2in 0 Brent Hamblin, the Math Sterling Scholar candidate, is quite skilled in that field. In his sophomore year Brent took both Algebra II and Geometry by taking Algebra II during regular school hours and taking Geometry from Mrs. Okroy in his spare time. Brent took up photography seven months ago and now develops his own film. Last month, he took first place in the first annual “Dirty Picture Contest’. His hobbies also include oil painting, sculpting and chess, where he is Ben Lomond’s number one chess player, During the summer he attended Weber State College where he took Color Photography, Economics, and Financial Accounting. The English nominee, Jeff Daniels, also excels in the business field where he has taken Bookkeeping, Typing, Clerical Office, and Commercial Law. He carries a 4.0 Drama average and enjoys being a sports fan and golfer. As a sophomore he won the school golf tournament and has won prize money in tournaments during the summer when he golfs three and four times a week. He is on the golf team and has been golfing for six years since his neighbor got him started. His neighbor, consequently, will not play him any more because Jeff always beats Along with her interests in drama and speech, Vicki has been able to maintain a 3.89 grade point average and is one of Bon Marche’s Charlie Girls. She has participated in various school plays and musicals including “Our Town” (lead), ‘Music Man,” “Little Mary Sunshine,’ and “George Washington Slept Here.’ She also adequately filled the position of student director in “‘Harvey” and will be playing the lead role of Dolly in this year’s musical, “Hello Dolly”. McKAY éox ert Dave began his career in art in the fourth grade where he was chosen to get out of class for one full day to paint the lines on the floor for the Dance Festival at his local elementary school. To speak further of his accomplishments, he once decorated one entire bulletin board in the hallway of that same elementary school. Dave is now taking Art Seminar and Ceramics. He has been the Junior Class president and sheriff at Boys’ State and is now serving as the Student Body vice president. While at Ben Lomond he has been in every school play and musical except one. He has done everything from making statues for scenery to thinking that he sees a 6112” rabbit. Music Scott Amos, Sterling Scholar in Music, has really worked for this achievement. He _ played french horn in seventh grade. He’s been first chair in All-State and Golden Spike orchestras. Scott was fifth chair in the All Nation Orchestra during a tour of Europe. He was given superior rating in the Solo and EnFestival. Here at Ben Lomond Scott is band president, plays in Orchestra, Dance Band and has a 3.8 average. After he graduates he might possibly attend the Naval Academy, studying Naval Science. She maintains a 4.0 average and has taken Type I and II, Shorthand I and II, and is now taking Secretarial Practice and Shorthand during first and second periods. She was a Pep Club officer in the ninth grade, a Student Council representative as a sophomore, a G.A. representative as a junior and is now the Girls’ Association president. Diane enjoys horseback riding (in the summer), bowling, golf, riding Hondas and has sung in the chorus of “Little Mary Sunshine,” and will sing in the chorus for “Hello Dolly.” Diane plans on working as a secretary during the summer and attending Weber State College where she plans on receiving a teaching degree and becoming a business teacher. Eugene, along with two other Scots, attended and prepared a research paper for the “Ninth Intermountain Junior Science and Humanities Symposium” last March at the U. of U. He has helped prepare a film and sound tapes on drugs and how the junior high and high school kids feel about them. Eugene said that the purpose of the film was to help teachérs better understand the drug situation at the present. Within the next few weeks he will compete in KCPX’s “High School Challenge,” along with his fellow Sterling Scholars Craig Lundell, Kent Shreeve, and Scott Amos. BILL DEVEREAUX . Foreign Language Bill Devereaux has taken and excelled in three different foreign languages, the field where he received the Foreign Language nomination. He has taken French in the eighth grade, Latin in the ninth grade (where he received a superior rating in Weber State College’s Language Fair) and has taken German until the present, There are two sides to Bill. Besides being scholastically oriented with a 3,81 grade point average, he is also a great swimmer. In the area of swimming, Bill has taken region in his events and shan cae in phe: state swim meet.
