They claimed that they could get more students to have yearbook portraits taken. The contest generated enthusiasm among students. Highlights of the year were the Orchid Ball and the Sophomore Class party. Appointed to the newly organized Sophomore Council were, Susan Collins, Sharon Blair, Dee Broderick, Richard Pierson, Margie Thurgood, and Bill Combs.
