Show Lawrence Hunsaker and Arizona State defender drop a pass. weber state wins opener 21-14 Tony Cox Tom Crittendon The Wildcats opened the season at home in a return engagement with the Arizona State Lumberjacks. Last year, the Arizonans clobbered Weber 41-6 and players from that game were aching for revenge. Weber broke a five-game losing streak from last year as they downed the visitors 21-4. For three-quarters, the game was close and the score was tied 14 all. On the first play of the fourth quarter, Henry Owens swept left end and scored on an 11-yard run for the winning TD. In this game, Weber's punter, Lyle Johnston, booted two punts for records. The winning TD was set up after a fumble recovery of a 71 yard kick. The second record setting punt traveled 73 yards.
