Show Pati Hoggan is winner of the Best Dressed Girl Contest. Winning debators and orators stop for a picture at the annual high school debate tournament. weber state hosts 1200 debate tourney The college sponsored the thirtieth annual high school debate tournament which was founded by Dr. Leland H. Monson, Humanities Division Chairman. Over 1200 debators represented sixty high schools from Utah, Nevada, and Idaho. The two day tournament was climaxed with the announcement of debate, oratory, and extemporaneous speaking winners. the colony and signpost sponsor best dressed girl contest Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Green, of the Colony, in cooperation with the Signpost and Glamour Magazine, sponsored the second annual Best Dressed Girl Contest at Weber. The six finalists were Mary Kimble, Kathy Krumbach, Leanne Ragland, Patti Hoggan, Elaine Schwartz, and Betty Yashida. The girls were judged on poise, grooming, and fashions. La Dianaeda, the winning club, does its colorful act. delta phi, la dianaeda win talent honors Flickering lights, women in distress, the sound of flying fists and furniture, Professor Color and Mr. Sope, Peabody Palace, and the Olympics were the highlights of the successful talent show. The winners were announced by AWS and AMS officers. Winning in the men's division was Delta Phi Kappa, first place; and Sigma Delta Phi and Alpha Rho Omega in a tie for second. La Dianaeada placed first in women's division, with Otyokwa taking second spot. Trophies were awarded the winning groups. The men of Phoenix perform like women. |
