Show The Life Science Department of Weber State sponsored a series of Audubon films and lectures again this year. Among the featured programs were: Robert W. Davison, a naturalist-photographer of national reputation presented a program called a "Journey in Time." C. P. Lyons gave a colorful look at the English countryside in his films, "This Land, This Realm, This England." Many of the life science students enjoyed the performances greatly (and also filled class requirements by attending them). by James McBeth One of the most interesting and best received convocation speakers was Dan Valentine who stated among other things that: he wore the suit that met Spiro Agnew at the airport; college girls "couldn't keep their grades up or their pills down"; "9 out of 10 college girls are beautiful, and the other one goes to BYU"; "Protest is healthy"; "It's nice to have a generation gap - I've heard their music!"; and "This is a sensitive state (about liquor and smoking along with several other of Mr. Valentine's favorite subjects). You have to remember, I came here from America." |
