Show L.D.S.S.A The LDS Student Association is meant to help LDS students strike a balance in their academic, religious, and social spheres of activity on campus. As an official correlating arm of the Mormon Church, it blends together existing agencies, and establishes new ones where needs are felt. The Institute Committee held the annual David O. McKay Honor Night, especially significant this year as it was the last held during his lifetime. Musical groups organized through the Institute contributed beautiful music as well as social involvement for many more. The Campus Committee was the LDSSA campus liaison, and impetus toward the newly formed Inter-Religion Council. Religious programs were taken, by request, to many wards and stakes; the Programs Bureau offered much variety and special-talent evenings to civic and church groups. College students spent unselfish hours helping at the Job Corps, Weber Memorial Hospital, State Industrial School, and the Deaf and Blind School as a part of the LDSSA social committee. A Lamanite committee helped Indian students find proper integration into campus activities also. FROSH CLASS PARTY The Frosh Class Hug-In was held March 13th. |
