Show Right to left: Garry Hoxer, Van Covington, Mike Shafer, Terry Monson, Ken Pettingill, Ron Litzenberger, Brad Masingill, Coach Mac Madsen (camera shy). The Wildcat golfers finished third in the Big Sky race at Montana. The University of Montana won its sixth consecutive title in Big Sky play. Cat stars Jim Linke and Ken Pettingill finished off the pace while Rich Carpenter of Montana fired a 54 hole total of 219 in the three day play off to win his second straight confer-ence title. Weber's squad lost the services of senior Jim Linke next season, which left a big hole to be filled. It seems somewhat petty to spend so much time hit-ting a little white ball all over the place. However, like any other sport, it brings out the challenge in man to reach perfection. This sport seems to be catching on more and more across the country, so quite naturally it is important for the college to have a well balanced team. This pleasureable sport is taught during both fall and spring quarters to interest other students in gaining a better knowledge of the sport. |
