Show RODEO UP The spirit and color of the old west are kept alive in our atomic age through the rugged sport of college rodeo. Its participants are dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of the Old West. The modern collegiate cowboy and cowgirl typifies this heritage by their rugged individualism. Unlike many collegiate athletes they usually receive no institutional scholarship support. During the academic school year, they travel hundreds of miles each week-end to represent their institution at regional rodeos. With no trainers or whirlpool baths to soothe their aching muscles, they are sustained by that spirit which was characteristic of their frontier counterpart. HALLOWEEN |
