Show PROBE Left to right: Susan Thomas, Brent Todd, associate editor, Deejah Sherman, assistant editor, Michael D. Richards, editor-in-chief. Michael D. Richards, Editor Steve Egan, Artist Probe served as the literary medium for Weber State. It provided a framework for students, faculty and alumni to express in essay, short story, poems, or pictures their inner thoughts and ideas. This year Probe endeavored to be a sophisticated and cosmopolitan magazine by students, for the school and community. It continued to explore the meaningfulness and responsibility of life. Although the efforts to establish a successful magazine on campus have often been useless, the Probe staff met the challenge this year. They stayed within their budget and nearly sold out of their first edition. New promotional ideas such as better photography and more art work made the magazine easy and enjoyable to read. KWCR Left to right: Rich Christensen, program director; Mike Joseph, station manager; Mr. Bill Sanders, advisor. KWCR, the campus radio, 881 FM, initiated new programming this year which naturally resulted in better broadcasting. As Mike Joseph, station manager claimed, the new program, "On Campus" became the pipeline to what happened on campus. Every evening from 9 until 10 anyone on campus was given the opportunity to talk on the show. "The program intended to provide a tap on what's going on on campus. We were interested in talking to anyone who was interested in any phase of WSC," the manager continued. As KWCR has grown, the listening power has also multiplied. This year KWCR taped the program "Political Round Table" and sent it to commercial stations for broadcasting. |
