Show Above: Weber follows the team to Colorado. Left, top to bottom: Jean's music inspires; LaVon captures the Friendship cup; Club presidents tie the friendship knot. Above: Attraction at the Mardi Gras. Right, top to bottom: Santa cheers A.W.S. Christmas Ball; Sweetheart Ball ushers in Valentine's Day; Weber's winter campus. When day is done Blackouts have dimmed San Francisco. But kilowatt curbing on the Weber campus is not in vogue; curfew is non-existent. Until ten o'clock nightly, light waves guide book worms and last-minute-required-book readers. Under a lone lamp, aspiring organists fill the auditorium with vibrations. Over in the southwest corner of the campus rockbound geology classes engulf a last minute review preparatory for one of Child's chillers of the marrow. At President Dixon's home a pleasant glow welcomes his countless guests. High up in the top story window lights lead wandering publication staff members to the scenes of dead line rushes. Up the ramps to the ballroom in the gymnasium building where indirect lighting effects cast shadows over the current decorations, parade Weber couples. Transformed by the alchemy of twilight, these daytime denizens of hall and stair become the sophisticated ladies and gentlemen of campus social life. One night the gaiety of the Mardi Gras fills the air. Winter brings Phoenix' Snow Ball and the A.W.S. Christmas party. The ultra-modern tempo of the Frosh Blitz or the old-fashioned charm of the Excelsior Sweetheart pleads any guest. Occasionally, like moths dawn to a candle audiences congregate behind the footlights of the Moench auditorium for concerts, plays, special programs. |
