Show Waklguist Junior High School ROUTE OGDEN, SIDNEY L. 3 UTAH WYATT PRINCIPAL Dear i January 11, 1960 Patrons: It is generally agreed that parents should know more than they do about their schools. Those who have not been in close touch for a few years are surprised at the changes that have occurred since they were in school; the curriculum has changed, new methods of organization and instruction have been introduced, and a changed philosophy of education has emerged. We, as educators, will be the first ones to agree that all changes are not necessarily good; and are therefore carefully testing new ideas before putting them into general practice. At the Wahlquist Junior High School, we are in the second year of an experiment in which a team,of teachers cooperate in the teaching of Language Arts and American History in an extended block of time. This is the first time that the integration of these subjects in large groups has been attempted in the State of Utah. Considerable interest has been manifest by educators throughout the country in our project. We should like you to see for yourself how this method of teaching operates. For this reason we are giving a demonstration in which we invite you to participate in one of the regular lessons of the course. Thursday, January 2lst at 7:30 P. M. is the time scheduled for this demonstration. The program for the evening will be as follows: well i. PTA. ce Explanation 4. Presentation of the teaching Team. lesson 4.
