Extension Course Opens Thursday At High School One of the most interesting i things that the University of Utah I is bringing to the Ogden people ; through - its extension division is ! the new course which Prof. L. A. Quivey is offering, "The Master- 1 pieces of Fiction." Professor Quivey has just re- j j turned from passing a year at I 1 [ Stanford university. teaching, ! studying, and writing, and con- ceived the idea of this course ,] while there. As an author cannot be judged A until he has finished his work, fl 'the instructor has decided not to 1 offer courses upon any authors 1 {who have not ended their work, J ;and in consequence he has chosen 1 Conrad, who died last year, as his first author. Ten lectures of the 1 25 will be given on Mr. Conrad, j and the students will read half ' a dozen or so of his novels. The [J remaining 15 lectures will be de- j voted to a rather intensive study a of the modern Russian novelists, .1 among whom will be taken such ] authors as Turgenev, Dostoievsky, 1 Tolstoi, and others of a later per- I iod. Those who wish to go into this j course will appear at the Ogden I High school by 8 o'clock, if pos- 1 ;sible, next Thursday night, Stu- 3 dents may enter for three or four weeks thereafter, but there is no way of having the lectures repeated.
