Ogden high and Weber high hoop- sters, co-holders of first place in the Ogden division basketball race, cap¬tured league games last night by de¬cisive margins. Dick Kapple's Orange Streaks won handily over Box Elder on the Bee court, 47 to 28 while Weber disposed of Bear River in the local head- liners, 41 to 24. Ogden led at the end of the first quarter 9 to 7 at Brigham City and held a 29 to 12 lead at half time. At the end of the third period the Ogdenites held a 39 to 20 lead. Bill Kinner, leading scorer of the Ogden division, aided the Ogdenites materially in their victory. Bill tossed in 11 field goals and added two points from the foul line to in¬crease his lead over Wade and Lam¬bert of Weber. Fowler and Anderson on the guard line played colorful ball for the Ti¬gers. Weir at forward also spar-kled. Harris, Walker, and Tingey were the leading lights for the Bees. Mark Ballif's Weberites led throughout in their four period af¬fair with Bear River. At the end of the opening frame Weber led 10 to 5 and at half time the score was 27 to 11 for the locals. Weber scored only six points as against ten for the Bears in the third quarter. Ed Wade and Joe Lambert pro¬vided the-punch for Weber. Lambert listed 19 points and Wade 18 during the evening.
