Description	This collection contains 74 diaries of Dr. Edward Rich and his wife Almira. They begin in 1892 and run through 1965. The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

OCR Text	Show Friday, January 11 Have spent most all day on phone tryint to complete the delegates for officers of D.U.P. Board to be voted on in Feb. As strike on all telephone of U.S. is threatened soon was anxious to get this job over. What a job it would be with out a telephone Dr & I attended Hellen Trauvel concert. She was wonderful. Grand voice & pleasing personality. We had heard her once before. Cleone called also Junior. Recd letters from Thair in Austria and Oertel in Oxford, Ohio. All fine. Retired at 11 P.M. Saturday, January 12 I bought our first Rib beef roast in over a year 4 for 2.17. Did some laundry & spent some time on telephone on D.U.P. Business Weather cold so have not been out much. Dr & Dr Junior are busy Have done a number of operations this week. Recd news of the berth of a great granddaughter Lynn, Shaw Parents Claire Eccles & Ried Shaw Sunday, January 13 Am wondering if I like this new pen Junior gave his father it dosent need to be filled for one year & no blotter is ever needed. As usual Dr & I attended S.S. & he gave a good lesson on John the apostle. Enjoyed a nice dinner with Junior & family. His son Edward is eleven years old today. A fine boy who likes to go to Snow Basin. We drove up there with them this afternoon Monday, January 14 At 1 P.M. I was a guest at luncheon with the Girl Scout Council at Methodist Church I was 2nd Commissioner at the time of its organization in Ogden Jan 14 1921. Organized at the home of Mrs Bertha J. Eccles in Jefferson Ave. They now have over 1,000 members & money is provided them from Community Chest. A fine work is being done. Reports interesting.
