Show Sunday, December 29 Dr and I enjoy very much Marie Powers contralto in The Messiah. I stood up most of the time in N. entrance with Myrene & many others. Best performance ever given & largest house. Given at Tabernacle. Cleone played in orchestra for 26th year. She just recently sang at Town Hall N.Y. in Messiah Monday, December 30 Good by Old Year! Good by to You you have been good to me. With pleasant moments and the joy of friendly company With daily progress in my work. Thro hours bright & dark and every oppertunity. To make a worthy mark There have been dissapointing things and I have made mistakes But also on occasions you Have given me the brakesyou have encouraged each day To meet tomorrows tideWith memories and melodiesAnd friendships multiplied And so I shall appreciate. Whatever life may bringGood by, Old Year! Goodby to Preparing for the New Year. Tuesday, December 31 Feel very distressed & worried as Dr E.S. Budge brought us news that Cloteel and her daughter Ruth had arrived home in Los Angeles via plane from Vienna Austria. A surprise to all of us. Not alone this but Joe is not making a Merry Holliday time for any one but himself. We Dr and I have never had a less joyful passing of the Old Year to the New. But we still have much to thank our Heavenly Father for & thank him for our Joys. Special 1947 or Other Data Thair C Rich Col. M.C. has charge of Medical Sec in Austria under Gen Mark Clark. Took over in Dec. 45 A great granddaughter Lynn Shaw born to Reed J Shaw & Claire Eccles Shaw Jan 4 1946 at Brookston Inda. at 835 A.M. weight 6 13 oz black hair Ralph W. Hardy, director of K.S.L. is honored by upon being selected the out standing young man of 1945 by the Jaycees of Salt Lake City he was selected from nine candidates. |
