Show Monday, February 4 Snowed 2 or 3 in today. Myrene & I attended a luncheon given by Norma Sears Evans. Those present were Mrs Weeks, Mrs Marioner Browning, Sophie Read & Margret Anderson. A very pleasant time. Enjoyed seeing many lovly articles Norma had brought form France previous to the War. I wrote letters to Claire E. Shaw also to Charles R. Smart & a card to Avon, Blanch & Junior spent awhile this evening with us. I wrote to Thair also Oertel. Tuesday, February 5 Attended Relief Society meeting Sister Alma Peterson gave a very interesting lesson the first years in Utah & its colonization sent out to the States bordering Utah. Also the groups sent to for parts of the State. Myrene & her Mary & Rody came for a few minutes. Cleone called. I rested this morning as Dr helped Junior operate at the hospital early. Wednesday, February 6 At 11 A.M. attended funeral servia of Hattie M. Moor held at the L.D.S. Institute of Theology. The five very fine speakers among them Apostle D.O. McKay. She was our neighbor at one time. A wonderful women. I was a guest of Mrs Jenette Morrell to Lit. Club. held at her home. Mrs Joan Emmett gave a good paper on the trend of schools Dr & I had letters from Avon Smart & Claire E. Shaw. I did some letter writing & some reading. Thursday, February 7 Dr & I attended The Foxhole Ballet the same show given our U.S. troops over seas. Very good Pioneer Daughter Election Called Feb 4 46 Election of officers of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Weber county chapter, will take place February 28 at two p.m. at the Ben Lomond hotel, according to the nominating committee, Mrs. Almira C. Rich, chairman; Rose M. Packer, Alberta Simmons, Jeannette R. Proudfit and Kathryn K. Cowley. Nominated for president are Maggie Felt, Lettie Manning; first vice president, Blanche Wilson and Eva Wangsgaard; second vice president, Iretta C. Evans and Lillian Garner, secretary, Margaret Eames and Ida Russell; treasurer, Leontine Knighton and Amanda Waterstrat; historian, a carryover, Belle Wilson; registrar, Stella Ballinger; relics. Jennie Winholtz; corresponding secretary, Lydia McGregor and Phyllis Parker; chaplain Pearl Taylor and Edith Nelson. |
