Monday, January 7 Have not felt well so spent most all day in bed. Junior & Dr operated this forenoon. Did some cleaning. Recd letters from Claire E. Shaw Indiana & Gladys Rich Calif. Wrote to our son Thair who is now in Austria. Time goes just as fast as the old year & there is never a day seems long enough to do all I would like too. Heber Hancock came & brought some nice fresh cupcakes Lucile my sister made she is so kind & thoughtful. Tuesday, January 8 Have done some writing to the following yesterday Thair in Austria, Oertel in Oxford Ohio, Mary in Palo Alto Calif. Avon in Los Angeles, Janath Carmon in Sant Francisco Cloteel in Los Angeles & have also sent thank you notes to Ruth Rich, Richard Rich, David Peery, Dick 7 Nancy Peery., Carlan Smart & to my dear friend Annie Petty. Duplicate. Cleone & Myrelle Eccles called Myrelle is better 7 able to walk with out crutches. Wednesday, January 9 Have spent most of the day with the nominating Committee at DUP. Here at my home. Two names decided on for 12 different offices, to be voted on in Feb. Some job. we worked from 2 P.M. until 9 P.M. & now must contact them all soon. The Committee was Katherine Cooley, Rose Packer Mrs Frank Simmons present & Mrs Robert Proudfit who could not be present. I was chairman so must phone all candidates soon. Thursday, January 10 I have phoned most all day to prospective candidates as officers for D.U.P. to be elected in Feb. Did not have much success. Will have to meet Committee again soon to decide on some other four or 5 more & then contact them. Quite a number are in poor health. I did not sleep well last night thinking about this responsability so this morning dropped of in sound sleep and awoke at 11 A.M. Dr is very kind prepared his breakfast & did not wake me.
