Ogden Knife and Fork club will resume its winter meetings Thursday night, Jan. 17, at the Hotel Ben Lomond, it was announced today. Guest of honor at the dinner meeting will be James L. Wick, editor of Whats Happening in Washington. This is published weekly by the Prentice Hall Co. and has a circulation of more than 50,000 among leading American business men. Mr. Wick, who knows most of the Washington leaders personally, is able to forecast with almost unerring insight the trends of national and international events and interpret them in such a way as to make such information valuable to local business leaders throughout the country, said a statement. However, Mr. Wicks lecture is far from being dry or stereotyped. Due to his ever fresh information, he is forced to change parts of his material from week to week as he goes along, though his view is a long term one on the whole and his major ideas and predictions are based on that sort of a viewpoint. Recently he has been in Europe and he has interviewed most of the men who really count on the continent; the men who are in power now or who are about to assume the power with the result that, as an American expressing the American viewpoint, he knows thoroughly what is going on and what it is likely to develop in Europe as that unhappy continent strives to keep the peace. |
