Show tons per hour, arid each grinding bay half-section composed of ore rough-grind rod mill and two fine-grind mills will convert 4,235 tons cash 24 hours from minus 3/4" feed to specification of 100% passing 4" mesh with 57 passing 200. The thickenel flotation. tailings to watte will surpass 2 ,000 dry tons per day. Between April 14 and August 6, 1959, a Interin tailings diversion and disposal facilities in quegradas Cimarrona and Purgatorio some 25 kilometers below and west of the mill were constructed by Utah-Emkay pending finalization of details by Southern Peru Copper Corporation to allow uninterrupted tailings flow from the mill directly into the sea. Work performed in this period included a small gravity type concrete diversion dam containing 775CY of concrete, slightley over 3 kilometers of gunite-lined canal with access and maintenance road bench involving 216,000 CY of excavation, and a 163,000 CY loose earth-fill disposal dam with reinforced concrete decanting system and gunite-lined spillway. |
