Show was 316,000 C.Y. of excavation. The first housing units to be completed were the 6 bachelor worker quarters, released for occupancy in December 1957. There were followed by the skilled worker hotel and restaurant in January 1958. The last of the 62 housing units in the semi-skilled worker and labor or a was completed on June 21, 1958 and in March 1959 the last of the 72 skilled worker apartments was released for occupancy. The Micellaneous service buildings were constructed and completee during the above-mentioned period as manpower and materials were available. On February 16, 1959, Toquepala area hospital and medical facilities moved from the temporary quarters in the Incapuquio construction camp to the permanent quarters at the Plaza area. Final items of construction in the Worker's Camp to be completed were the Catholic Church, dedicated on June 21, 1959, and the Plaza Recreation building, completed July 29, l959. In addition to the site grading quantity above shown, total quantities of major work items in the Worker's Camp area consisted of 7,700 C. Y. of structural excavation, 24,000 C. Y. of concrete, 377 toes of miscellaneous and structural, steel, and approximately 3,315,000 concrete block. |
