Show two Cochranc 11 ft. pressure filters, a 20 ft. solids contact reactor, chlorination station, suitable transfer and backflush pumping arrangements, and chemical equipment and storage building. Site grading and structural excavation was started in May 1958. The facility was essentially complete and ready for operation in January 1958.Southern Peru Copper Corporation assumed full-time operation and control in the month of May 1959. 300,000 gallon capacity, steel storage tanks were erected in both the Smelter Camp and the Smelter-Power Plant areas. The Smelter Camp tank was erected between November. 1957 and. February 1958, followed by the Smelter area tank completion in July 1958. |
