Show Marriott-Slaterville City History August 2017 Marriott-Slaterville Monthly History August 2017 August was a continuation of our dry and very hot summer. Post Asphalt is in the process of completing various road projects throughout the city, reconstructing 1700 West and making repairs to damage that occurred over the winter. Residents are reminded that if they have a backyard fire pit, they need to use it with care. The pit must be located the proper distance from your neighbor and any property lines. McKay-Dee Cardiology will hold its 2"^ Annual Heart Fair on Friday, September 8, 2017, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at the McKay-Dee Hospital Education Center, 4401 Harrison Blvd in Ogden. The fair will feature free health assessments, blood pressure checks, and information booths, cooking demonstrations, physician lectures, games and prizes. Marriott-Slaterville City is hosting a Garden Market and Garage Sale every Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm through Labor Day Weekend at the City Hall parking lot located at 1570 W 400 N. People are encouraged to bring garden produce or garage sale items, meet friends and neighbors, and have an enjoyable Saturday morning. Planning Commission Meeting - August 15. 2017 A Public Hearing was held to give residents an opportunity to comment on the proposed Dark Sky Ordinance. Mr. Morris said copies of the Ordinance are available for anyone wishing to have one. The Planning Commission recognizes the City's responsibility in protecting resident's interests as much as possible, while still providing security for the surrounding businesses. Approval of the Ordinance was postponed until staff are able to review it more thoroughly. Phase I of the Stanger Subdivision located at 1200 W and 700 S was approved by the Commission subject to certain stipulations required by the City Engineer and city staff. This phase is a minor lot subdivision consisting of three Vi acre lots. Home businesses will no longer be required to obtain a Business License, but they must still comply with all zoning ordinances. All 1/3 and acre lots will still be required to have secondary water. The former Bauer/Hansen lot on West 17^^ St has been cleared off with the exception of several tires that still need to be removed. This will be the future site of the city Public Works building. |
