Show Marriott-Slaterville City History December 2017 A Layton man was indicted after a set of crashes left a woman dead near West Weber in November. Derek Lyie Hendricks, 33, was formally charged on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 with one count of negligent automobile homicide, open container/drinking alcohol in a vehicle, and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage. The second crash killed Amber Lawrence, 32, at the scene. The deadly incident was first reported at about 3:40 pm, November 21^^ initially as a hit-and-run near 1800 W 12* St in Marriott-Slaterville. A Toyota driven by Hendricks hit the back of another car and kept going down the road. Speaking about the different types of mayors, the article talked about the strong-mayor form of government. Strong-mayor cities are typically those that pay their mayor to work full-time, though that isn't always the case.
