Show OGDENITES IN FINE FORM IN UTAH CLASSIC Stratford Wins Broad Jump; Greenwell And Dabb Capture Medals By A. F. W. UTE STADIUM, Salt Lake City, May 9.—Fenton Reeves' Span¬ish Fork high school tracksters cap¬tured their sec¬ond consecutive state champion¬ship in track and field athletics here today by nosing out the Davis team of Kaysville, 23 to 20. Uintah was next with 19 with Logan a close fourth with 18. Other teams finished as fol¬lows: Carbon,14; Provo, 11; Ogden, 11; Pleasant Grove, 10% 1/2; East, 10; Payson; 10; Weber, 9; Jordan, 8; Dixie, 6, West 6 and L. D. S. 1. Only one state record was shat¬tered during the afternoon. Alley of North Rich established a new mark when he tossed the javelin 171.96. The former record of 170 feet was held by Griffith of Tooele. Fine performances were recorded in all events. A stiff wind hamp¬ered the runners, but despite this handicap splendid records were list¬ed. Galloway of Uintah captured the mile and half mile events in fine time and Hutchinson |
