The bulk of this collection centers on Almira's diaries that run from 1897-1947. During that time she documented her personal life and the medical practice of Edward, the community of Ogden and national events such as the outbreaks of WWI and WWII. The diaries also include newspaper and magazine clippings, memorabilia and pins.

Cleone, Royal & Justin Eccles Dr & I we at Blanchs home to see pictures sent from India by Junior very good. This evening I was invited to talk on the Book Beneath Ben Lomans Peak to a group at Guy Hursts Monday, March 5 Still stormy I attended Ladies Aux. Medical at Olive B. Jensens home. Elaborate refreshments served Dr West gave an interesting talk demonstrated on screen Sub. Cancar. Lovly musical numbers given by our Pres. Mrs. Dains voice, Mrs L. Draper Mrs Lucile Petty & Mrs Zina C. Nicholes Recd a letter from Avon saying June is better also one from Thair (France) he is fine but anxious to get home & have the war over. Tuesday, March 6 A sunny clear winter morning. Will get my accounts on history book straight today for the 800 brought up Feb. 8 & 9. Sold 135 myself. Dr and I heard Will durantt on causes of War & Peace after Population of Utah is estimated at 606,944. July 1, 1944 Times Change, Gals Whistle At Males Now WASHINGTON, March 7 Dont feel too flattered if the girls whistle at you, mister; its probably because theyve lowered their standards. Whatever the reason, the fact is some girls have taken to whistling at men and you can blame it all on the man power shortage. Dr. Hendry Bowman discusses the subject in the April issue of American magazine and comes up with some startling sidelights. He is director of the division of home and family living at Stephens college, Columbia, Mo. Bowman says many a girl has become a huntress, boldly seeking dates and even proposing marriage. Theyll whistle at a passing male and try to date anything that grows whiskers or peach fuzz.
